Artist Statement:

My inspiration for this sculpture was the Polynesian tiki god Kanaloa. I like the tiki god kanaloa because is has dreads and it represents the sea. I feel like it was a real cool sculpture for me to do.

I started off doing the four sketches of all four sides of my sculpture to go off of. then I created the base so it can hold up on. then I added and subtracted things to make my sculpture look better.

Title: Jason

My piece depicts Jason. Jason is the main character from the Friday the 13th series. He first appeared in Friday the 13th as the young son of camp cook-turned-killer Mrs. Voorhees, in which he was portrayed by Ari Lehman.

I used a variety of oil pastel techniques to get the results I was aiming to achieve. I used a peach color and white to make a off-white for the mask. And a mixture of red and black for the background to give it a scary look.

The big idea for my piece was to create a horrifying picture of Jason. So that when people view the picture they will know its Jason and know the meaning its giving you. what inspired me to do this piece was my feelings that I had with Halloween being right around the corner so I decided I was gonna do Jason.

My goal for this piece was to learn how to use oil pastels better and to create a piece that looked like an oil painting. I really loved using the pastels because I like the way how you can blend colors. My goals as an artist is to keep making creative art pieces. This did help me reach my goal because I liked the way how it came out, I just loved it.

my overall thoughts on this piece of artwork is. I learned a lot about pastels in creating this work. This piece is exactly what I imagined it to be. this piece will influence my future artwork by them looking even better.

Title: Grid Drawing

Title: watercolor

my inspiration for this piece is I love the movie Nemo and fish in general. this is my first water color painting I ever did and I think I did well now lets get into details on how I created this piece.

I began drawing my fish and put masking fluid around them then did my background. I used the wet on dry technique to blend in my ocean and add details.

Tile: Foreshortening

My piece depicts a city in Foreshortening style. the buildings are large up close and gets smaller farther away. the title of my piece lazy city. The most prominent element is line and the move prominent principle is movement.

I began by drawing out everything in pencil then outlining in black then used colored pencils to make color for my buildings, sidewalk, road, and grass. I also used color pastel to make the sky.

My goal was to create a city that has everything in it with no crime or violence just peaceful. I feel like I achieved this goal. By adding all types of colors to make it pop out to the viewers so they can get a good understanding.

The big idea behind my work was to illustrate a Foreshortening piece creating a city of my own. Many people "drown" in many emotions and from many things.

my overall thoughts on this piece of artwork is creative and technically strong. I love all my colors I put in this piece. You can really tell its Foreshortening by adding all types of colors to make it pop out to the viewers so they can get a good understanding.
